BASES

In the development of the Urban Agenda, the structure of the Urban Agenda of Catalonia, which establishes three dimensions (territorial balance, prosperity and productive model, and welfare and social equity) and six axes (prosperity, welfare, health, climate change, urban quality and good governance), has been taken into account as a key reference.

Likewise, similar processes carried out in municipalities in Catalonia and in Spain as a whole have been taken into consideration. In particular, we have followed up and exchanged information with some of them, such as Terrassa, which have been selected as “pilot cities” by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) of the Spanish Government, and we have also participated in the work carried out by the Provincial Council of Barcelona in this field.

Terrassa’s Urban Agenda and its Action Plan are fully aligned at the city level with the 17 global SDGs:

End of poverty

Zero hunger

Health and welfare

Quality education

Gender equality

Clean water and sanitation

Affordable and clean energy

Decent jobs and economic growth

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Reducing inequalities

Sustainable cities and communities

Responsible consumption and production

Climate action

Underwater life

Life of terrestrial ecosystems

Peace, justice and strong institutions

Partnership to achieve the goals

The City Council promotes the Urban Agenda process based on citizen participation and public-private cooperation oriented towards the general interests of the city, to achieve a widely shared city strategy, finding the appropriate formulas to align public and private strategies, set common objectives and develop a stable framework for implementing the planned actions, monitoring and evaluating them and adapting and/or modifying them until 2030.
