Improving air quality and human health
- The “Air Quality Improvement Plan / Horizon 2025” defines as a key objective to reduce by at least 15% the NOx and PM emissions generated in 2025, taking 2019 as a reference year, as well as to carry out the necessary structural actions to accelerate the improvement of air quality and tend, progressively, to reach the levels recommended by the WHO.
Improving acoustic quality, health and quality of life
- The Strategic Noise Map (MES), the Noise Capacity Map (MCA) and the Noise Abatement Action Plan (PRS) are the most prominent instruments of environmental noise management, with the aim of improving noise quality throughout the city.
Reducing waste and improving the efficiency of the collection system
- The “Municipal Waste Prevention and Management Plan 2018-2030” sets as fundamental objectives to reduce waste generation, adapt collection systems to the reality and needs of the city, increase the percentage of selective collection, improve efficiency, increase resources, progressively place waste within the framework of a circular economy strategy and contribute to the fight against climate change.
Public water: quality assurance, transparency and social equity
- Terrassa has a 100% municipal water management service, which is the guarantee of an efficient, quality, transparent, participatory, equitable, social and committed to the environment and sustainability public service.
Urban gardens: a commitment to self-consumption with social values
- Expand the citizen network of green spaces, sustainable from a social and agronomic point of view, with the objective of creating urban gardens for self consumption.
Education and awareness to improve the city and the planet
- Promote campaigns and actions to raise public awareness and disseminate information and documentation with different levels of specialization, as well as carry out environmental education programs aimed at citizens and the educational community.
