OBJECTIVES

The basic objective of this strategic commitment is to generate a set of dynamics, a real “citizen engine” oriented to the 2030 horizon, by strengthening the local “economic muscle” and the industrial and university/educational identity/tradition, so that they provide a solid medium and long-term basis for sustainable development, individual and collective opportunities for economic progress, well-being and social equity, internal territorial balance and quality employment.

  • To promote sustainable development objectives and move towards a greener, more industrial (technological and innovative), more educational and social city.
  • Improve the quality of life, social equity and well-being of citizens throughout the city.
  • To increase and balance territorially the per capita income and the opportunities for educational, economic and social progress of all citizens.
  • Attract/retain talent.
  • Enhance public resources to improve the city and its services and protect its natural environment.
  • Enhance external projection.

To achieve this objective in the medium/long term, we propose:

  • To take advantage of the strategic location in the metropolitan area of Barcelona and Vallés.
  • Develop a set of projects and actions (some already underway or planned, others to be assessed, studied and, if necessary, promoted).
  • Align all capacities and potentialities in university and education, innovation, entrepreneurship and digitalization, through what is called the “quintuple helix”: administration, economic activity, university, citizenship and sustainability.
