Promoting proximity and sustainable mobility
Towards a new mobility: pedestrian areas, ZBE, bicycle, public transport, electric vehicles…
- The main axes of the strategy to move towards a new mobility are: expansion of pedestrian areas, establishment of a Low Emission Zone (LEZ), favoring walking, cycling, public transport and VMP, preparing the city for electric vehicles.
- Application of the new Mobility Ordinance, in order to contribute to traffic-calming, reduce accidents, pollution and noise, and improve the quality of life.
Promoting electric vehicles
- The Electric Vehicle Strategic Plan is the instrument to design, manage and progressively implement the electric vehicle in Terrassa and reduce polluting emissions from current traffic (70% of total air pollution). As a reference, this plan can reduce CO₂ levels by almost 3%, reduce emissions to the atmosphere of 9,000Tn each year, lower nitrogen oxide by 6% and suspended particulate matter levels by 25%. It will also contribute to reducing noise in the city.
